“I’ve been in and out of the gym since the late ’80s, but it wasn’t until 2018 that I discovered what truly worked for my body. I tried traditional training, heavy lifting, and nutrition coaching, but none of it was sustainable or supportive in the way I needed. The turning point was working with Kim for mobility — she didn’t just train me, she educated me. Even through Covid and long periods on my own, I was able to take care of myself using the tools and techniques she taught me.
Today she is my full wellness coach — mobility, training, recovery, and lifestyle — and We work completely virtually since she moved across the country. I’ve learned how to roll, stretch, scrape, and cup safely, with or without my husband, and I can manage my body in ways that keep me feeling great day to day. At 56, I’m healthier, fitter, and at at least as flexible as I was in my early years, without chasing perfection. I feel good, I look good, and I’m aging with confidence and mobility. My husband and I train with Kim three times a week from our home gym, and we wouldn’t trade it for anything.
If you’re looking for a coach who cares about your future as much as your present results, she’s the one. Working with Kim has shown me that long-term health is something you learn, practice, and own — not something you wait for someone else to fix.”

“Transforming My Life, One Workout at a Time. When I first began my fitness journey, I had doubts about whether I could truly make a change. That all changed when I found the right program. The structure, encouragement, and expert guidance made all the difference.
Over the past six months, I’ve not only lost 15 pounds, but also gained confidence, improved my energy levels, and developed healthier habits. The workouts were challenging but adaptable, allowing me to progress at my own pace. The focus on both strength and cardio helped me build endurance and see tangible results.
Today, I feel stronger, healthier, and more committed to my well-being than ever before. My fitness journey has transformed not just my body, but also my outlook on life. I’m grateful for the experience and excited to continue setting new goals!

“I was recommended to use the professional services of Ms. Kimberly Scholten back in February of this year 2025. I am currently 69 years old and have been a very active adult for my entire life (former gymnast, college cheerleader and tennis player) yet over time, both my knees were giving me issues from numerous knee surgeries. As my movements, particularly in playing tennis, were getting more and more restrictive and painful, it was medically decided that I needed knee replacements on both knees. After the 2nd knee replacement, it was evident that physical therapy was not providing me a gateway for returning to play tennis. The PT goal was to get my knees to a determined ROM yet nothing more. I was terribly out-of-shape, had limited movement, still had shooting pains in both knees and frustrated by the slow progress.
After consulting with my last orthopedic surgeon, he prescribed to me a very positive next phase for my recovery and that involved Ms. Scholten. To this I am so grateful. Due to the defined plans of her programs, I have lost 34 lbs, lowered my blood pressure to excellent levels, and range of motion in both knees have exceeded the orthopedic surgeon’s expectations. I have returned to the tennis courts playing 2-3 times a week including returning to USTA tournaments and league play. She has had me concentrate on footwork, active stretching, off-court conditioning and goal-parameter dieting. She not only has helped me regain my athleticism, she has brought joy in my workouts and is now my life coach for both me and my wife Sharon. She is so pleasant to work with and I always look forward to every one of her sessions.
If you are a patient that is experiencing knee problems and have had replacements of knees, shoulders, hips or other limitations, it would be in your best interest to involve Kim as your first class exercise physiologist. You will experience fantastic results.”

“Kim is a wonderful and incredibly knowledgeable trainer. We have been meeting for almost 2 years now and in that time she has provided extensive knowledge about PNF, Foam Rolling with intention, Active release therapy and stretching. She has also helped me overcome many minor injuries during our stretch sessions and always leaves me feeling better and more limber than before. I can't recommend Kim enough!”

“Kim is an absolute gem of a personal trainer! She is extremely knowledgeable and really strives to understand her clients and their goals. Her programming is tailored to the individual’s needs and is built on a foundation of whole body health. She helped me train for the multiple spartan runs and volleyball, alongside recovery from injuries. 10/10 would recommend! ”

“I have used personal trainers since 1989 and there is no one, not even close, who knows what she’s doing, but Kim. When I started with her, I couldn’t even touch my toes. But with her expertise in stretching maneuvers and her exercise programming, I can honestly say at 68, I am in the best shape of my life because of the foundation Kim has given me. My loss is your gain. Please listen to her if you want to work with the best in this field and industry.”

“My name is Cassidy Mason, and I am currently studying Exercise Science. I’ve had the privilege of learning from Professor Scholten and experiencing her expertise firsthand. When I mentioned the tightness in my right hip, she immediately offered to help. Professor Scholten performed a thorough assessment and guided me through several effective stretching techniques. I left feeling relieved and truly like a new person. She quickly identified contributing factors, including hamstring tightness and prior sport and exercise experiences affecting my hip. In just 30 minutes, she helped me find both mental and physical relief. I highly recommend Professor Scholten—her knowledge and skill genuinely made a difference, and I can personally attest to that!”

“I first met Kimmy ten years ago in a gym and this was the first time I was working out in a gym and learning how to train and lift. One day while I was working out, I saw Kimmy training a gentleman and I said to myself, she really knows what she is doing and I thought I could learn a lot from her. Over the time working with her, I have acquired knowledge that will stay with me for the rest of my life and how to manage my health in a holistic manner. I have learned how to weight train for muscular endurance, hypertrophy, strength, power, and most importantly, training for function. Not only have I learned the ins and outs of how to resistance train for specific goals; I have also learned proper nutrition and how to eat for desired results.
During my training with Kimmy, my body has transformed by becoming more lean, losing body fat, and building muscle. After training with Kimmy, she moved to Texas and when she returned to NY, she acquired more knowledge revolving around recovery methods and modalities. This is the second time I have worked with her years apart and our primary focus was rehabilitation and recovery. At this time, I was a United States letter carrier and I was walking eight to ten plus miles each day on average. She not only used her new methods to help alleviate pain and tension residing within my body, but she also taught me how to foam roll to maintain our results between the sessions. Our sessions consisted of PNF stretching (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation). This recovery service was an absolute game changer in my opinion due to the positive results it has yielded. Not only is this service applicable to the average Joe, but also for athletes of all sports, and populations of individuals who have undergone joint replacement surgeries.
In her sessions prior to PNF, Kimmy has introduced me to cupping and the gua sha tool, similar to scrapping. The cups expose stagnant blood and toxins that were stored in my tissues by bringing it to the surface, and gua sha has helped alleviate tension in stubborn areas of tissue that are carrying excessive tone and tension. One thing I can share is the cups don’t lie! Kimmy uses these methods of gliding the cups and they will go where you are the tightest and the cups reside and sit on the tissues where energy is blocked. The gua sha tool allowed her to get into the deeper layers of tissues, the real stubborn areas that are difficult to get to if not for this tool. She also introduced percussion therapy, also known as a massage gun.
Kimmy is truly a master of her craft and she has such a unique way using all of the tools for specific issues and injuries. For someone who walks for a living, I can truly speak to the ease of performing activities of daily living after working with Kimmy. The recovery services have been helpful to me, especially my upper body in the warm months during kayaking season and the combination of her methods have been extremely helpful to me in my occupation. I can speak on how much Kimmy truly cares for her clients and how individualized her exercise programming is and her recovery methods. I am forever grateful for having worked with her on so many holistic health principles and her wide range of knowledge has made such an impact in my life, along with learning how to manage my health to avoid doctor visits, medical bills, and never having to rely on medications. ”

“I worked with Kim for about a year and was very pleased with her training. She listened to not only what I was hoping to achieve, but my body concerns and designed a workout to achieve my goals. Kim also spent time showing me the proper method of lifting/trx so as not to cause injury if I was working on my own. She knows her stuff and encourages her clients to stick with it.”

“My name is Gaige Armbrewster and I am a college basketball player at SUNY Cortland and I have had the pleasure to have Kimberly as my lab instructor for exercise physiology. She informed our whole class that she is a professional at PNF stretching and I thought that I wanted to give it a try to see if it could help me on the court. After the lab one day, she showed the class a mini session of a PNF stretch for the shoulders and the hips, and I was the person she worked on. After the PNF stretch on both the shoulders and the hips, I felt a difference right away. I also have realized since she did the session for me, I have been shooting the basketball way better because of some relief on the shoulders. I have nothing but praise for Kim and the work that she does. Oh, and also she is an incredible lab instructor!! ”

“My name is Naseem. I am a student at SUNY Cortland Physical education major. I am also on the wrestling team and have been wrestling for 7 years. As of my sophomore year in college, I was diagnosed with a torn hip labrum along with some other problems, I also tore my shoulder labrum too in practice. After dealing with the unconformable and trying to manage it on my own I went to see Professor Kim and after she gave me some stretching techniques and workout to implement in my routine I have seen a great improvement in not just lifting but also in wrestling, my shoulder and hip does not feel as stiff anymore and I’ve also seen a better range of motion in them also.”

“My name is Emma and I am a student of Professor Scholten's Exercise Physiology Lab. Before the stretching session, Professor Scholten had me do a squat assessment to test my range of motion and my form. She quickly corrected it, went over my imbalances/asymmetries, and then moved onto the PNF stretches to allow me to have a better squat afterwards. The PNF allowed me to feel so freeing, with my lower back pain reduced and a lighter overall bodily sensation. I am planning on attending medical school for a DO program, so seeing these PNF techniques in real life affirmed my desire to continue learning and utilize these techniques in my own future practice!”

“I’ve worked with Kimmy in the past, and she is genuinely one of the best trainers I’ve ever had. She is knowledgeable, motivating, and always pays attention to proper technique and form. Kimmy knows how to push you without making the workouts feel overwhelming, and she tailors each session to your goals and fitness level.
Every session felt productive, and I always walked away feeling stronger and more confident. If you’re looking for a trainer who truly cares and delivers real results, I highly recommend Kimmy.”

“I’ve been Kim’s client for both training and recovery. Kim listens attentively to your needs, using her educational knowledge and practical experience to formulate a plan to address individual concerns. When training with Kim, she was able to assist me to build muscle, guiding me safely through various weight bearing exercises with attention to form, along with encouraging cardio to maintain my stamina. Recently, Kim has helped me recover from lower back and hip pain (age-related chronic tendonitis in my hip, exacerbated by structural changes in my gait due to a hip replacement on the other side) with stretching, foam rolling, and other movement techniques that have helped keep me agile and pain-free.”
